She loves reading but this book has so many characters and layers to the plot that it's unlike anything else she has read. I think kids 7-11 would love it, boys included. While it is definitely written for younger audiences than I am (24 year old woman), I enjoyed reading it. The prose is simplistic enough that children can understand and the characters are complex enough for any adult reading it to sympathize with them. This is the perfect book to read together! Though I gave it only four stars because I enjoyed it, but wasn't completely blown away. Would I recommend it to others? Absolutely! In fact, I'll do it right now!
