In my case, the left wheel came off while I was mowing, and one of the two plastic sleeve bearings was lost. I could have replaced the plastic bearings, but this kit with its steel ball bearings appeared to be an upgrade at lower cost. The kit arrived quickly and was easy enough to install, although the bearings had to be pressed into the wheel hubs. I don't have a press, so I drove them in with a hammer and a 1/2" drive socket. On my tractor, the wheels are retained with cotter pins, one of which had sheared off and caused the wheel to depart the machine. Cotter pins are not included in this kit, so I purchased them separately at the local big box.
