This combination of rod and reel has to be the lightest most sensitive that i have ever used. Spooled with 12lb mono, the reel casted extremely smooth. once they were tuned for the bait weight and the brakes adjusted, I casted 80+ times without any problems or fatigue. The 10+1 bearings made it feel buttery smooth. The retrieval was a little fast for my taste in bait choices being that it was 7.1:1.
