Bought this intake so my truck could breathe better.. The intake i just bought replaces the top cover of the original box and the tubing from the throttle body to the box.. The problem with the original intake is the small hole the truck has in the bottom box to breathe threw. This using the bottom box to breathe threw changes nothing.. I posted pictures of the way i did the intake which lets the intake breathe free and clear!!! Also I am more dissapointed with the clamps sent to close the intake they dont seem to close enough to keep the intake sealed so now i have a whistle from hell that sounds like the brakes on a train squeeling from hell and back!! I have been purchasing and swearing by spectre for years!!!! Bought air filters and intakes for years for me my family and my customers and im actually very diaspointed in them right now.. Thankfully this is my truck that i am having these issues with and i Dont have a customer yelling at me because their having these issues but this is just very sad for me.. On the plus side the rubber gromets for plugs and the iat sensor worked flawlessly and perfectly!!!! 2 stars because i had to make it work and have more work to do to get the train whistling to go away and the clamps :/ ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2006 Ram 1500 5.7L v8 *by T***O on Reviewed in the United States on December 26, 2017* The instalation of this intake was easy and went as planned, but when i attempted to close the hood it was clear that the intake was sitting too high. I had to remove the rubber seal on top of the box and i also removed my hood linner for good messure. The hood closes properly now but it just nearly clears the hood when closed. Other than that I really like the performance and sound of it. Has a slight whistle to it and makes the engine breathe alot better. For the price I'd probably buy again. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Wrong tube sent *by K***R on Reviewed in the United States on May 19, 2019* Overall, the kit seems well made. As with other commenters, the IAT grommet was a pain in the backside. As I neared the end of the installation, I discovered the metal tube did not line up from the throttle body to the air box. I further realized that the EGR port was not next to the IAT sensor as it should be. There was no hope of the EGR hose reaching from that port to the EGR port on the oil filler.
