This neem lotion is hydrating AND antibacterial. And by using it, cured my keratosis pilaris on my knees and arms. I suspect one part of my KP was due to not hydrating my skin enough. WebMD & The Mayo Clinic say, “Keratosis pilaris results from the buildup of keratin — a hard protein that protects skin from harmful substances and infection. The keratin forms a scaly plug that blocks the opening of the hair follicle. Usually many plugs form, causing patches of rough, bumpy skin.” I’m no doctor, but I suspect the antibacterial properties of this lotion helped in that regard too. Maybe my body doesn’t need to produce as much keratin if this lotion is already keeping my follicles clean and infection-free. This moisturizer has a grassy lemony citrus scent, which I personally enjoy, but if you find that you don’t, the smell fades within 5 minutes. The moisturization, however, STAYS.
