Review: Excellent quality and professional performance - I purchased this braided line from Reaction Tackle and was truly impressed. The line is very strong and maintains great tension without breaking, even when catching large fish. The colors are also highly visible in the water, making it much easier to control and be precise while fishing. Review: The best fishing line ever to use fresh or salt water - It's the best fishing line i have ever used. Even stronger than spider wire fishing line and this one is thinner than the competitors they have and you have a big selection of different pounds and lengths of line and I enjoy the multi color line. I couldn't break it and it was even hard to cut with a box cutter knife. It doesn't get weak in direct sunlight constantly like regular line. Does over time and you have to change it so often and this one is protected from uv rays. Casting distance is the best I've every done and I didn't sling it as hard as I could. But just a regular cast with this line is smooth casting so it goes farther than regular fishing line. 0 stretch and the memory is great and I had a fish get tangled in the rope tied to the weight of a big sized rotor off a full sized truck that weights over 20lbs and the line says 20lb test but it's alot stronger. The fish didn't break my line or get off we got it in the fishing net and then entangled the line from the rope the catfish weighted almost 8 lbs but you know how catfish are they spin and everything to try and get loose but it didn't. But the 10lb line I usually use would of broke and the fish would of got away but not with this line even tho 20lb test I believe it could caught a fish that weights 60 to 100lbs and the line still wouldn't break. Maybe the hook would straighten out and they get off but not because of the line breaking like normal line from like Walmart or even bass pro.

**Q: How does this compare to Fireline?**
A: CATFISH C.P.R., your hilarious,comical at best, a 12# small mouth? You probably believe your own crap don't you. World record smally was caught in Kentucky in 1955 was 11.5 # but somehow you've caught bigger and not in the books. Pipe dreaming my friend.

**Q: What is the diameter of the 250 and 300 lb?**
A: 2mm. You know that is winch cable. No body needs line that heavy on a reel! The reel will break or man overboard before 90 will break.

**Q: How many strands is this line and is it spliceable Hollow core?**
A: I think it depends on which version you order, how many strands it is. Some are 4, some are 8 strand. 

And, splice vs tieing (to my understanding) is two totally different methods of joining line. 
As one response said, there are many knots you can use to join fishing line. 
To splice it, I have no idea.
