At the time of purchase it was not in the product description, but the packaging clearly says for small/medium dogs. For a few of my dogs' nails I could squeeze the scissors all the way together, but the product would bend/deflect instead of cutting through the nail. I managed to get it cut by coming at it again from another angle, but it was hardly ideal. For a smaller dog these would be great, and I really liked the visibility over another set i've used.
