Review: Very comfortable for easy hikes in cooler climates - I have narrow feet and these fit pretty well, although as per usual for walking boots I needed 1 size larger than for street shoes (42 instead of 41). They are very comfortable but the lacing doesn't allow you to get them properly tight around the ankle. Also, the soles don't offer much grip when it's wet. I would only recommend them on relatively easy terrain, not really for tough & very stony mountain paths. Also, breathability is a bit limited, so you quickly get hot/sweaty feet in hot climates. I first tried them in Hatta (UAE) in March and at 30 degrees, they were a bit hot. But a few weeks later, at 20 degrees in Southern Europe, they were perfect.

**Q: So they run large or small to size? take size 9 for running & walking shoes.**
A: This is always a difficult question to answer because everyone’s feet are so different.  I bought these to replace another pair of Salomons in a different style, and these fit the same as the ones they are replacing.

**Q: What is the Weight of these boots**
A: They are lighter than other Salomons I have had.  Unofficially, on my kitchen scale, one boot weighs 16-3/4oz.

**Q: Anyone tried these in ice?**
A: Yes!  No rubber sole is ice skate free. I slid in snow mud too

**Q: where are they made?**
A: Annecy, France. Both my daughters have hiked in the US and Europe and they both love them.

Spent 5 days hiking in Dolomites wearing these shoes (distances between 5km - 16km per day). They provided good grip and support when the track was wet and covered in snow! They are also super comfortable (my feet did not ache despite the long hikes). highly highly highly recommended !!!!
