It is a very Smokey agave tasting salt. To me the sal de gusano taste like Del Maguey Vida Mezcal in salt form. I like it very much and would recommend it and buy this product again.

**Q: How long does this last once it's been opened?**
A: I bought mine mid Dec 2018 and used it right away and since I only use a little at time it still have most of the bottle and it still tastes the same. as long as you keep it tighly closed after every use it should last a while.

A: It is more salty than spicy
