This 5mm wedding band is crafted from a solid billet of palladium and sterling silver Mokume. Each ring is carefully machined with a soft comfort fit interior and completed with a beautiful textured beadblasted finish. Mokume wedding bands are descended form the ancient Japanese art of folding and fusing layers of metal to fashion beautiful and strong Samurai swords. By folding precious metals of different colors and properties under tremendous pressure, a laminated metal is created which is much stronger than each metal on its own. Mokume is extremely difficult to create and takes tremendous skill. The alternating layers of different colored precious metals create a multi color swirl similar to a painting on the metals surface. Mokume takes on more character with age, with the surface changing and revealing more character with each passing decade.
