I live in Arizona and as you know the heat is unbelievable and that is when I have the most problems with my pond . Pond Patrol has been a great addition I am getting control of string algae and have disconnected from my UV light and water is crystal clear. **Q: I have a very large koi pond with approximately 50 koi. It is in the sun all day. Blue light filter and bead filters, will this still work?** A: It will work in a limited capacity within the water column. The UV light is not able to distinguish the difference between the good and the bad bacteria, so any bacteria that passes over it will be affected. Due to the water flow in your pond's filtration system, any of the good bacteria in your pond, whether added or naturally present, will eventually pass over this light. **Q: What is the shelf life ?** A: I believe it is 3 years after opening bottle.
