Review: Quality Grill for a Good Price with Fast Shipping!! - First impressions: quality grill for a good price with fast shipping thanks to desertcart! The box arrived with some crumbled corners but I was relieved to find no dents, dings, or scratches on the grill. For shipping purposes, the burners are cotter-pinned into place so they do not rattle around inside the grill. (The customer then removes these and likely won't need them again.) My two outside burners and cotter pins had broken free and were laying in the bottom of the grill. This could have caused damage to the grill and/or burners but once again, luckily I did not see any. There are 7 sets of studs (2 studs in each set), 3 sets for the heat shields and 4 sets for the flame tamers. Three of my studs had presumably come loose during shipping; I found the studs, their washers, and two of their nuts scattered inside the box and packing material but I could not find the last nut and had to make a trip to my local big box store. Needless to say, packaging could have been better but at least nothing major occurred. After setting up my grill and handwashing the internal parts, I cleaned the outside with Citrushine Stainless Steel Polish - Streak-Free Metal Surface Cleaner - 12 oz Non-Toxic . (This will ensure that your grill looks shiny and new so when your wife asks how much money you spent on the grill, she will be blinded by its beauty and not mad.) Next, I cranked up all four burners to high and closed the lid for about 5 minutes, per the operating instructions. During that short ~5 minutes, the internal temperature reached 500+ degrees! One small issue: desertcart's product description states "Smoker Box included" and mine did not come with one. I contacted desertcart customer support and at first the rep insisted that the only resolution was to have me send back my 130 pound grill for refund or replacement. Once I pointed out that desertcart sells/ships the missing smoker box for $11.13, the rep issued me a promotional certificate for that amount. I effortlessly grilled some hamburgers and hot dogs for Labor Day weekend; I will get more adventurous once I get more familiar with the grill. So far, I have been very impressed by this well-built, no frills (ie. blue LED lights) grill and look forward to using it for a long long time! Five year update: still happy with the grill!!

**Q: Does this bbq need to drop in, or can it sit on top of an outdoor brick counter-top?**
A: This grill must be built it. We have ours built in between two slabs of granite sitting on a brick frame beneath the bottom. It is a great grill. It looks nice and functions very well.

**Q: My first experience with drop in grills, how does this secure to the concrete top I built? Are there screws or caulk or what?**
A: It just slides into the cutout the weight of the grill is supported by the side and back flange

**Q: Does this grill need an insulation jacket?**
A: I didn't use one three years ago. The heat is dispersed through the top rear when the lid is closed. I allowed air space all around the grill just in case but it doesn't even get warm.. my only complaint about this grill is the finish on the sides and the bends in the front handle .. they pitted or rusted the first year... other than that it's been a great value

First impressions: quality grill for a good price with fast shipping thanks to Amazon! The box arrived with some crumbled corners but I was relieved to find no dents, dings, or scratches on the grill. For shipping purposes, the burners are cotter-pinned into place so they do not rattle around inside the grill. (The customer then removes these and likely won't need them again.) My two outside burners and cotter pins had broken free and were laying in the bottom of the grill. This could have caused damage to the grill and/or burners but once again, luckily I did not see any.
