Review: Very Happy to Recommend this to Other Women!!! - UPDATE: FEBRUARY 12, 2017- My Two Year PURA D'OR Anniversary. Don't think I have ever stayed with one product for so long. It still is working for me!!! QUICK REVIEW: This shampoo helped regrow my postmenopausal (plus recent hysterectomy) thinning hair. It has no silicones (silicones clog pores) but you might need a no silicone conditoner for detangling afterwards. Use it faithfully for at least 3 months. Take before and after pictures to see how your hair is progressing. Read my full story when you have time. It will tell you how the first year went. Also, I have just purchased and left a review for Pura D'OR Deep Moisturizing Conditioner, which pairs nicely with the shampoo especially of you have dry, curly, or hard to comb out hair. So skeptical that I took a before and after picture to see if it was working. I had pretty full hair until I became of a certain age. Slowly I could see my hair thinning, especially in the front. I went to a dermatologist who told me there was not much I could do. I wanted to tell myself that it wasn't true but I would not only find hair all over the shower but everywhere else, too. **Q: What is difference between Pura d'or Premium Organic Anti-Hair Loss Shampoo  &Pura d'or Hair Loss Prevention Premium Organic Shampoo, Brown and Blue?**
A: Well I just went through and compared all the ingredients between the golden and blue version.  The BIG BIG DIFFERENCE that jumped out at me is this now has Ketoconazole at 0.9% in it.  I have been historically using the blue version and using Nizoral Ketoconazole shampoo twice a week (marketed for dandruff at $14 per bottle and available at target) which is typically used as the only ingredient in lots of expensive hair loss shampoos out there!  So Pura D' Or has taken my advice!...and have added a very important ingredient to this mix.  Also it has added Alma oil, Prunus Africana bark and Cucubita Pepo herbs that the blue bottle does not have.

**Q: Does this shampoo make your hair hard to comb through or staticky?**
A: It is not the shampoo but the lack of silicones. I thought it was the shampoo also until I tried a few shampoos without silicones and they did the same thing to my hair. I love that this shampoo helped so much with my hairloss. I always use the conditioner and sometimes a leave in, if needed. Silicones are not good for our hair or bodies.

**Q: This product contains sodium c14-16 olefin sulfonate, then how it is organic or Sulfate free?**

Sulfonate is related to but not the same as sulfates. In a sulfonate the sulfur is linked direct to a carbon atom where as a sulfate is linked directly to the carbon chain via an oxygen atom. They do have similar qualities when it comes to propensity of being irritating to the skin but sodium C14-16 olefin sulfonate is not a sulfate.

**Q: Does this shampoo works on Bald spot ? How long needs to be used for hair growth on bald spot?**
A: Ketoconazole is commonly perscribed for dandruff/dermatitis, but its is also perscribed to prevent hairloss/promote growth because its a mild DHT blocker.  Its is one of the big 3 when it comes to battling hairloss- finasteride, minoxidil, and ketoconazole.  Prescription strength is 2%, over the counter is 1%, as found in this shampoo.

Many of the other ingedients are purported to have benefits to scalp health, dht blocking, or stimulating folicles, but generally lack scientific studies to back such claims.  While many of the things listed as not being in this shampoo are deemed bad for the health of hair or scalp, i.e. sulfates, parabins, PG, etc.

I’ve been using this biotin shampoo for a few months now and I’m really impressed with the results. My hair feels thicker, looks healthier, and I’m seeing less shedding in the shower. It has a great, clean scent and lathers nicely without feeling harsh or drying. I also love that it’s made with natural ingredients and doesn’t weigh my hair down. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A great choice, more convenient than others

First off I will say that I have tried a few other shampoos to prevent hair loss or to try to regrow some areas. While none of them are quick solutions, I have had some success with these types of products, where I have less loose hair that falls out, and I even notice some new hairs in my widows peak. So these products do help, compared to regular shampoos, such as Head&Shoulders or Suave, or whatever. I believe my use of Head&Shoulders or just liquid soap while in the military with very little hair instigated much of my hair loss. I have the receding hair lines and a very thin patch on the back top. So there is no reason to believe these type of shampoos are just snake oil, they do help hair growth/health. Which one you pick is the question. After trying about three others I was getting frustrated with the application instructions or the way the shampoo left my hair feeling. Some are already paired with a conditioner, or others say you can use any conditioner, but I have never used conditioner before, seems like a waste of time, unless apparently you have long hair or use a shampoo that leaves your hair with a dry sticky feeling. The worst part about most of these shampoos is it tells you to put it your hair for a few minutes, then rinse and repeat for a few more minutes. Then you can use a conditioner after that. I am not motivated enough to put it in my hair outside the shower or turn the water on and off while standing around, and waiting with the water on is a waste (in a 5 year drought here in CA). Aside from the all natural ingredients and helping me prevent hair loss, this is the best part about the pura d'or for me. It says to apply once, lather and leave in for about 2 minutes then rinse and you're done. So you're not wasting more of the shampoo, water, or time with reapplications. The next best thing I like about this product is that it is concentrated, it only requires about half a pump for my hair which is about 2 inches long on top and tapered down. It will last a long time and the bottle is small, and no hassle with a cap in the shower. The first time I put a whole pump in my hair and I had suds running down all over. I have found a couple not as favorable things about this shampoo. To get a good quick lather it seems I need clean hair to start with. If I do not wash my hair first the pura d'or will not lather even if I add more of it with my hair wet. If I wash my hair first with any shampoo then the pura d'or lathers easily its wonderful. When I say I pre-wash, its just a quick shampoo application and then immediately rinse it out, no waiting. This could just be the way it works in my hair, because the hair is kind of thin and I sweat quite a bit, it can get a little greasy I suppose between washings. The second thing I noticed is that it leaves my hair feeling differently than I have ever felt before, almost squeaky clean, not dry, just odd to me. Its honestly fine, and the feeling is gone once its actually dry, and I had no issues with my scalp drying out either. To kill two birds with one stone, for my quick pre-wash that I do for reasons described above, I use a shampoo that has Moroccan oil in it. This counteracts the squeaky clean feeling in my hair from the pura d'or. Then I don't use a conditioner. If I didn't pre-wash my hair to get the better lathering effect, then I wouldn't bother with anything to condition the hair, because it feels fine with just this shampoo, just different. I would recommend this shampoo, especially for those of us that are impatient.
