My husband made an aquarium lid out of an outdoor sign board, it works great keeping water from evaporation! When I first plugged in the light and set the 24/7 and it worked like it should! First thing in the morning the light was orange within a few hours the orange faded lighter orange then changed to a light white color. Within in several hours the white light was brighter and seemed to be at full brightness most of the day until the brightness started to fade little by little. I believe it was around 8pm ish the light changed to blue and proceeded to dim in the blue color until 10pm ish. Around 10 pm ish the light went dark to only turn on around 6am ish with the color orange that within a few hours faded to a light orange and then start the day with a light white color. I really like the 24/7 feature if it continues to work! The light isn’t submerged in water but does touch the water so hopefully I won’t have the issues other people have had with the light stop working. I did notice the light has a plastic covering, hope it holds up! I put it on my aquarium lid and I haven’t touched it since then. This light has a 2 yr warranty which will come in handy if it stops working properly. Soooooo first impression 1. It is the light I was looking for $22 2.
