My dog is trained already so the attractant isn't as important as the odor controlling ability.** A: I don't notice any attractant smell. I use it for one of my cats who doesn't like to use the box for some reason. He usually uses it twice over night or while I'm at work. As far as I can tell, the pad doesn't have any odor control, but the urine from my cat barely smells like anything, so it's not like it's sitting around all day smelling up the bathroom. (Note - I'm talking about regular pee, not the spraying that male cats sometimes do to mark their territory.) **Q: Will the attractant work for cats? My senior cat won't use the litter box anymore but seems to like the carpet.** A: I started using these for the exact same reason. I don't find that the attractant has any effect at all. They're big enough that he can use them more than once, they're super absorbent, and they don't get shredded when he tries to 'cover' up the pee. The price on these is way less than what I found in stores.
