Where many outdoor swimming books provide information specific to the area that they are writing about, Kate Rew's book provides you with the knowledge you need to swim safely in all types of water in all kinds of conditions. She provides an understanding into the behaviour of water so that you can take a more informed approach into whether it is safe to swim and how to get out of trouble should you find that you get into it. There are also some nice field guides for identifying wildlife/ plant life that you may encounter on your swim. A great guide for all outdoor swimmers and also for those who just have a love of the water without getting wet.

This book is just gorgeous, every swimmer or wannabe swimmer should own it. Full of great information ( some really good safety advice) and lovely pictures. I tried to skim it, when it arrived and couldn't put it down. I'm very envious of Kate's writing style. Good for motivation. I'm looking forward to getting back in the sea soon.
