You can layer the stain FYI- it starts out light but you can make things darker. Also a little can go a long way. I am pretty heavy handed and I did half of one chair on a small (maybe a little over 1/4 of a cup?) amount of stain. Directions mention using a cloth and sponge to apply and wipe product. If you’re like me and are impatient and stubborn- you can get away with not using a cloth. The top of it had extreme wear and it had nicks and marks on the rest of the nightstand. This product took two coats on the top and one for the rest of it. The stain went on easy and my hands, sponge brush and plastic container for the product cleaned up quickly with warm water and dishwashing liquid.
