It smells so good, unlike most hair coloring products that reek of chemicals. I can tell it's made from gentler, natural products because it didn't burn my eyes when I was washing it out. Even with eyes closed, you always end up getting some into your eyes (especially if you're rinsing in the shower) and with other products my eyes would burn really badly. It also did a good job with gray coverage but you do need to keep it on for the full 45 minutes indicated in the directions if you have gray hair. The color does come out slightly darker than what I expected - so the level 4 in this product is probably closer to what you'd expect from a 3. It didn't bother me, but I would suggest you start out a level lighter than you normally would the first time just to be safe. It covered all my grays and after my first shampoo i didnt notice any fading, though im washing in cold water with redken color protect.
