Please note that the butterfly habitat is sold separately. Grown with care at Insect Lore's family-operated farm in Central California, these caterpillars are shipped directly to you. We did this last summer and it was a great experience. All of the caterpillars arrived alive and thriving. All of them went into their chrysalis and all of them hatched out.I love the educational insert that came with it.I feel like it was money well spent for the experience. Can’t wait to do it again.

We ordered may 26th they were shipped within 3 days of ordering. I was concerned because one shipping stop was through pheonix amd it is hot there. When we opened the box all the caterpillars appeared dead. But the next day all 5 were up amd moving within a few days they were big fat caterpillars so if shipping takes too long you will not get small caterpillars. The kids loved watching these at all stages. The. Butterfly's were not theost beautiful they were more moth like colors. It was neat to see them anyway
