Review: Functionality Review: This unit replaced a Renogy 40 amp that lasted about a year before it just quit working one day. Renogy solar panels are great but their controllers are crap. Don't waste your money. Comparing the Aims controller to a Renogy controller is like comparing a Mercedes Benz to a Ford Fiesta. The difference in quality and ease of use is that dramatic. I was so impressed with the Aims controller that I replaced a Xantrex 2000w converter with an Aims 4000w converter. The Xantrex would not power my 15,000 btu air conditioner. It would just shut down. The Aims powers my AC, my microwave and TV all at the same time with no problem.
