Very thick bottom, almost platform like. Meaning there is little to no flex in the sole, so the heel will slip in and out when walking. Construction looks quality, from the materials to the sewn in embroidery. The pins are quality detailed enameled characters which give the shoe style and personality. I have the KL cat bag and wanted these to wear together. Sadly, the toe box in these is somewhat flat at the toe. While the shoe was size correct for length, the pressure on top of my big toenail was strong enough to let me know I could not wear these in comfort.
