No spacers or other alterations. I also measured the blade depth/drop inside the deck against the original blades and they were the same. Height of cut didn’t change. I never had issues with the original twin blade setup. The new blade works well, bagging really didn’t change much. Overall I’m satisfied with the single blade. **Q: does this blade have to be sharpened before use?** A: It comes as sharp as any other replacement blade would.
