The fabric is sorta like suede. I was concerned that frequent contact with arms on armrests and back of head on headrests would dirty the fabric so I bought this product to protect it. The spray worked well but to get full coverage I had to spray the fabric until it was quite damp - I was concerned I might have overdone it and reached the saturation/dripping point warned about on the bottle (why exactly do they warn of this - will something awful happen?) but I did not. The chairs dried in less than 24 hours in an air conditioned room, no smell. The fabric appears normal in texture and color. Water test shows good beading.
