Without cutting the main?** A: No. The main cable must be cut. **Q: Can a 12 awg solid wire be inserted into the bigger hole?** A: The description for these connectors says that it will accept 12 gauge wire. we do not use anything bigger than 14 gauge so I don't know for sure. **Q: Can the connectors be reused if silicone added?** A: The gel isn't silicone. The connectors can be reopened but unless some dielectric gel squeezes out you risk the chance of water infiltration and thereby the integrity of the connector.
