What skills are required to build it?** A: We supply all of the wood, hardware, and strings for this project. You are responsible for providing woodworking glue, a finish, and tools. You'll be able to build this kit using mostly basic hand tools. You'll want several clamps and an electric sander. A router will be helpful to trim some pieces flush or to install optional inlay. A scroll saw makes cutting the soundholes easier. A band saw comes in handy to shape the brass crank stock and using a polishing wheel makes the crank easy. I would highly recommend downloading our assembly instructions which can be found on our website - www.harpkit.com. Reading through these in advance will give you a clear idea of the scope of this project. **Q: Are there any videos of an instrument made from this kit being played?** A: Thanks for your interest in our Hurdy Gurdy! When it arrived I immediately opened it and started to assemble the kit. I concentrated and concentrated until I finally had my Hurd gurdy.When I first turned the crank handle a beautiful rainbow shot out of the sound holes and opened a portal to another dimension. ...I found myself on planet fun.
