As an amateur beachcaster, I really wanted to be able to cast into deeper water but the cheap reels never really made it. I paired this reel with a Continental 15' rod and a casting cannon. Im able to get so far out now, I cant even see the splash. My fishing buddy was so impressed with this reel he went and got one/ Trust me, you wont be disappointed. Smooth action and lays braid beautifully on the spool that it slips cleanly with no snags. nice clutch and brake that actually works (unlike my last reel!) Just have to remember to lower bail arm as its not automatic which is a really nice feature. Comes with 2 spools and rubber sleeve so you dont need backing mono on braid, very nice.
