You can tell it’s working, you will see the flashing white lights and red light , etc. I can still see my lot four years later still shining strong!! I looked up a YouTube for the Cherokee battery and they showed a negative terminal and a positive terminal for the purpose of connecting jumper cables. They are on the right side of the engine compartment. The negative terminal is just a metal stick with no nut or anything that you can use to connect the negative wire on the repeller. I am using the repeller on a riding mower which is a rough environment for the repeller. So I ordered this: Nilight - GA-ACC-01 2 Pcs 30A Alligator Clips Booster Jumper Cable for Car Battery Charging Charger, 6 mm Copper Terminal Which I connected to the repeller wires. This allowed me to easily attach and remove the repeller when I am mowing. So this is a way for you to connect to the negative stick terminal on your Cherokee. We had a rat problem on my block for a while now and when I park on the street is normally when they would try to enter the vehicle. Since using this I have seen no signs of them in the engine bay at all. The design is very durable and withstands the engine heat.
