They are very attractive and well made. **Q: What is the weight capacity of the hanging function of these? Are they strong enough to be full of fruits and vegetables along with hanging cast iron?** A: They aren't cast iron at all - the screw for the top wouldnt start i had to buy screw and go into the wood - as for hanging not to sure I have mine on the counter - but they are nice - the inside holds 12 pack of canned dog food - I guess if you zip tied the basket together you could hang and fill without worry! **Q: What size drill bit should I use for the anchor?** A: I didn't use anchors in the drywall--I attached a 1"x4" into the studs (so the wooden tops are a little deeper with that piece attached to the wall) and another 1"x4" a few inches below to hold the baskets from the wall. The baskets are attached to the 1"x4"s at the top. **Q: Can this wire basket hold large onion storage or potato storage?** A: Wish I could get my photos to show up on here, but check out the dimensions of the baskets--says 11.8"x 7.9"x 8.5"; am thinking some of the photos are a little distorted, but I have five of these lined up on the wall in my sewing room between two storage armoires. (See my answer to "what size drill bit".) Anyway, it depends on what you call a "large" onion or potato! Maybe you can find a box approximately the same size and see if what you call "large" fits! These would likely work in my kitchen, but...size is relative. Some of the review photos here might work for a better answer. Talk about well made! They go together so easy. They look stylish, modern, country, chick, they blend with everything! Nice solid wood top/shelf, nice solid color painted wire. I've had them on my counter side by side, I've stacked them, and now I have them wall mounted. They look so good every way! I have one for veggies and one for fruit. The baskets hold a whole 5 pounds of potatoes with space left over, could probably get away with 10 pounds even. I was able to put a half a bushel of peaches in one to fill it to the max! Loads of space for all sorts of fresh food. I think they would also work well for snacks, breads/pastries, coffee/tea and all sorts of other things. Considering another set for my craft space to help me get this up off the desk. The included liners help keep stuff from falling out the bottom so I can see rolls of vinyl, caddies with pens and what not on top, scrap papers, mail, stuff I need to keep close but not have in my way all the time.
