They dump him at his granny's on Friday evenings to watch their favorite show Strictly Stars Dancing at the studio. Ben hates it. He thinks old people are not much fun. On one such visit, Ben discovers something that changes his perception of his grandmother. I love this story. It's simple and makes fun of a lot of things we are taught to fear and respect. And the grandmother grandson relationship is truly touching. David Williams also visits the subject of parental pressure. Ben wants to be a plumber. His parents think it is a dead-end job and want him to be a dancer worthy of national television instead. While the clashes are comical portrayed, they impart a strong message. A wonderful book.
