The model is a bronze-ish cast, artistic representation of a biplane with landing gear set on a wooden base, which may also be cast, painted to resemble darkly stained wood. The book end is heavy-ish, each base has four small vinyl or rubber pads on the bottom. The dark color scheme nicely highlights and complements my growing book collection. I'd buy another.
