## Description

Mother, Barbara is the real expert on fruit trees of every kind. Her busiest times are late fall and early spring when she is in the orchard all day, pruning and re-shaping all the trees and checking for any problems. When the trees start blooming in the spring, she loves to take long walks along the orchard path every evening. Father, Danny is in charge of the orchards in Calico Village, keeping the grass short and the place tidy. He is very proud of his Calico Red apples and Peachy Perfect peaches. After the day’s work is done, he likes to relax on the couch with a glass of freshly-squeezed fruit juice. Sister, Lona is very serious and a little shy. But she's not shy around her baby brother and sisters! She takes very good care of them—she reads them lots of picture books, draws pictures for them and helps them when it's nap time. Brother, Winton is a gentle, calm, laid-back type. He knows a lot and does very well at school. He's great at ballet, but he's shy so he usually only lets Lona see him dancing. He wants to be a ballet dancer when he grows up, so he practices as hard as he can.

Review: Perfect for customizing and photos - Beyond perfect, I started collecting these again now as an adult and these are so precious. I was thrilled when I found out they made mice (there weren't as many animal families compared to now when I was a kid). The box had a little damage itself but luckily I'm not keeping them on display in their packaging. I like how the dad's shirts are actually two pieces (shirt and vest), I assumed it would be in one piece, which is a cute detail that will make cute pictures. Sylvanian Families/Calico Critters are very durable and are perfect for children all the way to adults who love miniatures. I find it worth the money, and definitely plan on buying more to make into other little mice colors (watered down airbrush paint and dabbing it after application in a few layers gives it color while keeping the critter fuzzy, this is how I turned one into a cute opossum). I'm excited to see and buy more families. 🐁

**Q: I noticed that the Hedgehogs have thumbs separate from the rest of the fingers.  Can they hold objects intended for the duplo or playmobil people?**
A: I just took a look for you at my Pickleweed Hedgehogs and I gathered a few random Playmobil items- Yes! The hedgehogs can even fit perfectly on the backs of the Playmobil horses, can hold most sized guns, and a sack of gold that came with a Western Bank Set from Playmobil. They work perfectly with Playmobil houses- even better than the Calico Critter houses. They can fit through Playmobil sized doors, and are approx the same height. They can sit in most, but not all, Playmobil chairs. If you have any more questions or questions about specific Playmobil furniture and If they work with the hedgehogs- please let me know and I will respond back within a day. Happy to help you out :-)

**Q: Are these critters soft or hard with fuzzy coating, particularly the heads and ears ...**
A: They are the hard with fuzzy coating type.

**Q: Are all of the products a choking hazard?  I’d like to start my 12 month old niece on the collection.**
A: Hi there. I don't think these are appropriate for a 12 month old. The clothes all come off and the critters, themselves, are made of fuzzy material. Not great for a baby to put in their mouth.    Hope that helps.  I buy these for my 5 year old and 8 year old nieces.

**Q: How tall are the individual critters?**
A: The babies are about 2 inches.  The bigger ones are about 3 inches.  Adorable and loved by boy and girl children ( and adults)
