I decided not to based on a pair of speakers that I did that to and ive regretted ever since. Dont get me wrong they will work and sound good (might be able to handle a little extra bass too) but the problem is you will lose detail. Sad to say I did that too a vintage pair of jbl and they lost so much detail I don't even like the speakers anymore. If detailed music is what your used then replace with sane foam type. If you just like good sounding or loud music then these will work for you and last alot longer too.
