Unfortunately the rules of the lake I’m on require a certified vest for use on the hydro-foil. This vest is approved but had bulky clips on the front to secure the vest. I really wanted the pro wake vest or fliteboard vest but they only come in black. I got this vest so i will be more visible to boaters. For that reason this is a great vest to keep me visible. it is lighter in weight than my old vest and doesn’t feel like it absorbs water like the old one did. That should be an indication of the quality of O'Neill products. The OPutlaw doesn't look like a slalom vest any more, so I chose this one. I was a little worried about it being USCG approved because that used to mean bulky. I'm pleased to say this vest is definitely not bulky and is extremely light.
