As they age, however, they naturally start to build up deposits and flake oxidized metal that trap grease and lead to flare-ups. This is to be expected, but I've found that scraping off those deposits and oxidized metal flakes with a paint-scraper or putty knife every few uses helps minimize those flare-ups and extends the useful life of these bars. These particular bars seem to be very heavy-duty and very much original equipment quality.
