It should be a simple couple of gentle pumps but the one I have takes a bit of effort, stirring the contents at the bottom of the carboy where it’s getting into the second container during racking. Once it gets going it’s fine. The tubing connects tightly so that’s not the issue. It is somewhere inside the siphon itself.*This part I don’t blame on the manufacturer, just making a note: The hydrometer slipped out of my hand while testing and glass broke into the container.
