By chance I found an ASUS widget which I downloaded and this did the trick - enabling me to access the display settings and customise. My frustration is why didn't ASUS include some kind of link to this really important information in the box? The benefit of a TN is a faster response time and less smearing, but the newer IPS panels have much better response times than the first few generations. So technically, this monitor is considered to be a step-down in quality, more of a budget monitor than the other one, although both provide excellent value for their feature set.
