I know for a fact that mild steel heated to the point it no longer responds to magnetism is 1400+ F, yet this keep kicking backs readinna of 800-1100F. The sole purpose of buying this unit was so I wouldn’t have to be so close to the metal foundry and forge. I’ll play around with it for another week before returning it.
