The pros recommend these tongs over ones with the black plastic coated jaws because the plastic (it's Not silicone) makes the tongs more susceptible to heat and it'll get messed up in the long run. No such worries with this model.

Excellent quality, the lock lever is just right and doesn't engage/disengage unless you want it to. Slight con: it's a little hard to clean on the inside but not unmanageable. Useful tongs for a barbecue. They lock easily, are comfortable to hold, grip food well and are lightweight. Only nitpicking is that I wish they were of a slightly heftier construction. All in all a great tool.

Just have had the tongs for couple of days so this review may be a little premature. I had seen chefs using similar tongs in cookery programs so when there was need for one, decided to pick this one. It is ok but does not feel as if it is well finished. The reviews seemed to suggest that the quality would be really great but I have not felt so.
