Point is very sharp, perfect to remove a small piece of skin. Useful for splinters, and also for use in removing "milia" which are composed of sebum and keratin that get trapped just under the skin and look like a whitehead, but is NOT. I used the needle end to remove the very tip of the skin, then used the loop end to express/extract the little pearl/ball of cells. The loop end is slightly curved so ideal for this. Very happy I bought this! Kudos on a great design!
