I had to drill new holes for mounting, but that was easy. The front cover comes off easily and stores on the provided hooks . Add bonus is that the TV mount swings out so that we can watch from different vantage points around the backyard. I previously just had a canvas cover on my outdoor TV and that got eaten up by the Texas sun. This hardshell cover has held up great! Going on 2 years with zero issues or fading.

A: The front cover comes off completely.  The unit comes with hangers for the front.  I guess you could put the hangers anywhere.  I didn't use them.  I just set the cover down over a deck box.
