It's a bit pricey compared to some options, but it's a lot more sturdy, it's quieter (especially on a foam base), and it comes in handy for when I need to mix items in centrifuge tubes (good ol' work from home). For use with paint, highly recommended. I use the 17ml dropper bottles, primarily, and this works terrific. I usually just hold the bottles on the mixer top down, sometimes bottom down. Both work well. I've also mixed other (small) bottles of paint by holding them on their sides, top, bottom, whatever. As long as you have a good grip on it, you can mix it. Sometimes it works well to push down with the pad at the base of the fingers while holding the mixer with 3 fingers, trapping the bottle. It doesn't take long to find a good method of using the mixer! As for the vendor, the unit is packaged professionally and well protected in transit, looks great, etc. but where they really shine is customer service! How is it working out for you?** A: I bought this for the express purpose of mixing my miniature paints. I've found that it works well- though you can expect to spend more time mixing paints that are pretty far gone. With a little added medium and a stainless mixing ball added, I've found i can reclaim paints I would have probably thrown away before. As far as how it works with paints that just need mixing, it works perfectly well. Some paints take longer than others, and I've found that swapping the orientation from lid up to lid down a couple of times during the process gives a better mix. I use it for GW pots and Army Painter dropper bottles and it works just fine for both styles. **Q: I brought this product and when I finally opened it up to use a my salon, it does not work** A: Mine didn't work either. I just got it. **Q: How well does it mix tamiya paints?** A: I’ve used it to mix many different companies paints and have not found one yet that it doesn’t mix. There is nothing about tamiya paints that would indicate this wouldn’t mix them just as well. **Q: I have 26mm (1 inch) diameter flat bottom high recovery vials, will this fit into the mixer interface? TIA!** A: The cup itself is approximately 3/4”- just a bit less- however, you do not have to actually place the entire tube into the cup to get the benefits of the mixer. I regularly use it for mixing containers with over 2” mostly flat bottoms.
