Sure, I don't see why using these to connect an ignition switch would not work.. Not knowing exactly what you are working on makes it difficult to be precise. These are for easy connect and disconnect, you should probably be using a relay some where inline for the switch. **Q: How many amps at 12vdc can these handle?** A: The official spec is 13 amps for the size 16 pins/sockets. I wouldn't push that, especially with stamped pins :) There are higher amp Deutsch connectors, but hard to find on Amazon.
