There is a 12 month product warranty and they sent a replacement. You should still be cautious when changing the battery as the interior of this product is delicate. This loupe works well to see details on small photos; however, this is the second one I've purchased as the first broke when trying to change the batteries. I chalked it up to user error and purchased another one. This one just ran out of juice and changing the batteries is nearly impossible. When you can finally get a tool down in there to get the old button batteries out, the inner circle holding all the interior comes apart and pops out. This leaves wires and inner components exposed and unable to easily put back together. LOL **Q: Can you see small jewelers marks like 14kt g or gf?** A: I can see the very small mint marks on coins. It works well. **Q: Light went out after one month. is it possible to change the battery? if not, then this product is no good.** A: There should have been three spare button batteries included with the loupe (model AG7). On the body of the loupe there is a Close <------> Open indicator. The body splits just above the area that has the ridges. Hope that helps. Had to get a replacement from Amazon. LED didn't turn off. This is by far the best microscope to view Trichomes. Larger and clearer viewing area than the competition. Highly recommend if you are having trouble viewing Trichomes from other microscope.
