**Q: Can this be used to test hay in a windrow or container, before bailing?**
A: Not accurately. It uses resistance across two points and loose hay doesn't provide the contact needed.

**Q: In the open air mine displays 8%.  the manual says this means it needs to be cleaned and reset.  its brand new.  and reset causes it to display 'err'?**
A: They come with a clamp on fitting to calibrate with. I absolutely love mine and honestly haven't had to do anything but use it. Personally I won't go to the field without it.

**Q: Does this tester also read temperature**
A: Hello Janet. The AgraTronix, 07121 HT-PRO Portable Hay Moisture Meter with 10" Probe & Calibration Clip can read temperature. Temperature range is 32° to 225°F (0° to 107°C).

**Q: Will this accurately read corn stalk bale moisture?**
A: We only used it for triticale hay, grass hay, and oat hay. Works great, we have 2!

Bought this late in the hay season last year, so only used it a few times. When we got it out for this hay season, the tip broke off at the plastic ring. I contacted Agratronix, hoping it was repairable and that would cost less than buying a new one. I explained the situation and was told since I had bought it a year ago it would be covered under warranty. They didn't require me to provide extensive documentation of date of purchase or jump through any hoops. I shipped it back to them with a reference number on the shipping label and about a week and a half after my tracking said it had been delivered to the company, I received a new tester. As much as I like the product - it's accurate and easy to use - I am thrilled with the customer service of the manufacturer.
