Let’s face it, cats have a tendency to get cooped up inside – and the fact that fences and apartment porches do nothing to contain them has something to do with it. You can fix all of the above for your feline friend and take outdoor play to the next level with the Outdoor Mega Kit by Kitty City. It creates a sunny, breathable, perfectly contained space with loads to explore, thanks to a large mesh frame. Interior coves give your cat a break in the shade, and there’s a large zip door for easy access for you. A tunnel door lets you extend the fun using a number of other Kitty City sets, or to create a tunnel leading from inside your home to an outdoor play area. And since it’s so spacious, it’s perfect for homes with two or more cats who could use a roomy feline jungle gym to play!

Review: Easy Assembly, reasonably sturdy, roomy - Size: It is a very roomy size. I am impressed. + Be sure to note : It will not fit through some doorways, so if you are planning to assemble it inside, check the measurements of any doorways in will need to go through first! Sturdiness: The structure is reasonably strong, sturdy and not flimsy at all. A note about the inside squares: This cat enclosure is very good for kittens and young, spry cats that can easily jump from one soft top section to another without needing much support. There are no solid supported landings for adult cats unless they jump down to the floor and up from the floor. I have an older 9lb cat that loves this cat enclosure. I adjusted it and lowered the upper square seat so they can get in and out. The zipper works best when gentle, similar to how you would zip and unzip a tent door. It is reasonably durable but the zipper track has split a few times. I have easily reset it by gently backtracking and then zipping it again. This not a discouragement to buying it, my cat loves it and so do I! Easy Assembly: Easily assembled. Patience is the key. If you do not pre-read the diagram & then follow the diagram directions step by step and instead rush ahead you will likely need to go back and redo it. I was able to assemble it easily by following the diagram directions as listed. There are no instructions about the netting, however it goes on exactly as shown on the box with the round entry hole on the right hand side. It is the last step. It took a little strategy to line it up, but when on easily and was the correct size. You need to be patient and gentle in sliding it on. Extra Parts: The kit comes with a few extra parts for future additions, replacements or adjustments you want to make. I has 1 firm cushion that comes with it for the upper right hand side square. You can personalize a little bit as you want it to be: I have added my own cat things to personalize my cat's space. I added a square flat box as a corrugated scratch box, a cat bed and another softer cushion, a square flat box of cat grass that I grew at home, a cover on part of the top for shade and water dish. I added my own little padding between the top of the poles and the net to help keep the netting in good condition. Outdoors or Indoors: I have it set up on my porch deck so that it is not on the ground to keep from fleas, etc. and in the shade of the porch roof cover. This is sturdy enough that you could prop it up off the ground if you do not have a porch/deck. This could be used indoors as a play area. I had it inside, leaving the door open, for two days for my cat to get use to it and explore it before I set it outside. When I put my cat in it outside for a while, my cat does not want to leave it and give me a fuss about coming back inside, lol! Price: I could not afford the pricing of a wooden cat enclosures & am not talented enough to make my own without it being a big project and learning experience to build one. This enclosure it the perfect next best thing in my opinion and within my affordability of saving up for. Recommendation: It is newly purchased so I do not know about longevity. My cat and I are very happy with my purchase so far. I wrote review in detail for the next person who is considering it. I know what it is like wondering if your money is going to a good purchase or if the purchase would be fitting for what you need it for. Review: Customer and Cat Favorite - I have this set up outside my store and both the cats and customers love it! My two shop kittens have been using this since 5 weeks old up to 4 months as of this review. I started off with one catio, then added a 20 foot section of tunnel and the one with the end cube. They would run so fast they would land in a pile at the end so I eventually got a second catio to attach the tunnel to. The first one I set up entirely following the instructions using all of the available cubes. The placement of the two layered Cube didn't make a lot of sense to me, but the kittens quickly figured out how to climb onto the top. Its become their favorite place to sleep. They like the confined space. The 2nd catio I left more open space, left out a cube and lowered the two layer one. Both set ups work well. The design leaves a lot of flexibility on how its set up. The neting is surprisingly durable, but not safe for unsupervised outdoor use. A motivated predator will get through it. It is strong enough to repel an initial attack but not if they have time to dig or tear at it. I left cat food in the catio unsupervised on a day off and ground squirrels chewed through the base of the netting and got the cat food. I used black yarn for repair. Worked great. There is a zipper that opens the whole top for easy access and cleaning. The side door is also very large. The net weave is open enough any kitty litter that spills can be shaken out. My biggest wish was that they had added a 2nd circle zippered opening on the opposite side so we could add tunnel pieces to make a loop. The cats would appreciate it too! The zippers for the tunnels are also not as nice as the main zippers. They are much harder to line up. Also like some reviews mentioned its not easy to move as the poles can pop out. Its not heavy but awkward. You need two people to lift if you want to move it far. I'd recommend gluing the poles if you need to move it a lot. Assembly took me about 30-40 minutes.

**Q: Where can I buy the tunnels?**
A: Good question, the sellers aren't very helpful in finding them but they do go on about how wonderful they are. I believe the best way to get the tunnels is to scroll down to the section that shows what others have purchased with the kit, it shows the tunnels and play pen. I personally don't need the tunnels but I was wondering the same thing. I searched the store I bought the kit from and they don't appear to carry it so I assumed that the suggested pieces will fit. If you decide to try one, please let everyone know if it connects or not. If it doesn't, there is a 30-day return policy. Hope this helps and good luck.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easy Assembly, Flexible Design, and a Few Lessons Learned

Using the video (QR code on the box), assembly was very easy. I put it together by myself in about an hour. As others have noted, the trickiest part is installing the mesh cover, but even that wasn't especially difficult. The catio comes with extra pipes and connectors so buyers can purchase additional pieces and expand it later. Unfortunately, I had to use most of those "extra" parts just to complete my catio, so I don't have any left for future modifications. If I need more, I'll have to buy them or ask the company if they can send replacements. The instructions could have been clearer about the orientation of the cubes. I installed one of the cubes with one of its openings facing the mesh, making it unusable. Fortunately, I was able to reposition it without disassembling the entire catio. One important tip: Measure your doorway before assembling it. Once fully assembled, the catio wouldn't fit through any of our doors to the outside. I had to remove the pipes from one side to get it through, and in the process so many pipes and connectors came loose that I ended up having to reassemble much of it outside. If you plan to use it outdoors, it's probably best to assemble it there. A few observations: 1. A standard rectangular litter box won't fit inside because the square pipe framework runs across the floor. You could remove one of the pipes, but since it's part of the base, I'm not sure that's a good idea. 2. The fabric cubes have no support underneath, so they sag when the cat sits in them. Placing the included bed cushion inside one of the cubes helps make it feel a little sturdier. 3. The modular design is a real plus—you can arrange the cubes however you like or leave them out entirely. However, if you want your cat to perch at the top to look over a porch railing (as we did), the layout takes some experimenting. In our case, the double cube blocked our cat from getting to the top because he would have had to jump almost straight up from the floor. I removed the double cube completely so he could use that open space to reach the top bed. 4. Our cat seems to like it, though it took a couple days for him to get comfortable. He's still not been able to get to the top bed but hopefully over time he'll figure it out. Pros: Easy to assemble Flexible, customizable design Lightweight and easy to move Cons: Fabric cubes have no bottom support and sag under a cat's weight Measure your doorway before assembly if you plan to move it outdoors The instructions could be clearer about orienting the cubes The included "extra" connectors may all be needed just to complete the basic structure Update: We've had the catio for almost 2 months and our cat loves it. I think we'll buy some attachments for it next spring to give him more space and places to explore. As other reviewers have mentioned, the mesh is definitely tearing at the corners, but they're not anywhere that he can reach so I'm not concerned that he'll escape. The company would improve the catio immensely by reinforcing the corners. As we move the catio around our deck (to empty the cube surfaces of rain or to place it in the sun) the pipes definitely loosen. It's easy to tighten them by unzipping the top mesh part and pushing down on the vertical pipes and squeezing the horizontal ones together. I wouldn't say the catio is very sturdy even when firmed up; it wobbles when our cat jumps from one level to another, but he doesn't seem to be fazed by it. Overall, we're very pleased with the catio. Still 4 stars.
