On the way back we got hit by a snow storm, but my hands stayed warm throughout the 30 or so minutes during which the snow was blowing right into us. These were a godsend. I totally agree with the reviewers who say these are easy to get your hands in and out of. They keep you warm and dry without any gloves underneath. The air temperature on my 3-hour paddle was about 28 degrees F, so that could vary if you were out in super cold weather, but for me they did the trick--and I get cold easily. I love them so much I bought two more pairs for my husband and son. I've used IR, Mtn surf, Seals & NRS pogies in past. I prefer the Snap Dragons over any of those mentioned. Very warm, wind resistant and easy to pull your hands in & out of in a pinch.
