You do need good eyesight to connect the rails and a gentle but firm pushing/wriggling action to connect them. The detail is incredible and we both enjoyed watching it run. For a novice though the instruction leaflet is basic. There are no instructions for wiring up the power box nor a decent layout just to get going nor the fact that the tender needed to be attached to the loco to get it to run. Most of these things a model train enthusiast would cope with easily but not if you've never done it before.
