And it works amazing. It makes my computer runs very very fast.I am using old dual pentium cpu 2ghz with gigabyte mother board of 800hz and 2gb memory. The computer worked very slow and even Internet surfing was imberrsing performance. The HD I had was 7200 rpm on sata2 but was 6 years old and the time didn't do well on it.The computer was a wrack.So first thing I upgrade the network infrastructure to be 40mb them I upgrade the network card to support 1gb later on I bought video card (Azuz ATI HD6450 1g) but surfing the Internet and performing trivial tasks such as Microsoft office programs was awful.I am glad to say that this SSD solved all my problems!!!!!Again - due to the low price and that it is the same performance as his competitors products, I must say I am very pleased.It is very small and have almost no weight. Just love it!!!!Took me 2 hours to install windows 7 office 2010 and all my other programs ~20 including photoshop and autocad. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Worth the upgrade in six year old computer *by C***B on Reviewed in the United States on January 21, 2016* Replaced the HDD in my 6 year old HP G60-530us Notebook computer with the SanDisk Ultra II 240GB. I was not sure there would be much improvement in speed with such an old computer. My computer has the intel ich9m/m-e family 4 port sata ahci controller and I could not find any information on the speed of this controller. The HDD is a Toshiba MK3263GSX SATA 2.6 specified with a 3 G bit/sec transfer rate.Replacement Process:First I cloned the HDD in my notebook using the Apriom notebook upgrade kit. Plug the cable in the kit into the SSD then into the USB port on the computer. Then I ran the EZ Gig IV cloning software that came with the kit. Selected the source drive (HDD in my computer) and the target drive ( the new SSD) and followed the prompts. It took 1 hour and 11 minutes to clone the 320GB HDD in my computer. After cloning I shut off my computer and removed the battery. Took the screws out and removed the panel covering the HDD on the bottom of the notebook. Removed the screws on the bracket holding the HDD in place. Slid the bracket and HDD out and removed the screw holding the HDD to the bracket. Performed all of the steps in reverse. Turned on the computer and voila ... it works!. .The Results:Using a program call HD Tune here are the results. OLD HDD SDDTransfer Rate Maximum 72.6 MB/sec 200.9 MB/sec ( 2.75 x improvement)Transfer Rate Average 48.2 MB/sec 186.4 MB/sec (3.86 x improvement)Disk Access Time 18.9 ms 0.252 ms ( 75 x improvement)Random Seek 4KB 0.203 MB/s 24.528 MB/s ( 121 x improvement)Random Seek 64KB 0.814 MB/s 70.325 MB/s ( 86 x improvement)Random Seek 8 MB 38.67 MB/s 243.85 MB/s ( 6 x improvement)Conclusion:Even though the computer is six years old it was worth upgrading to the SSD. For large file transfer the speed improvement was about 3 to 4 times. It would have been more if the computer hardware had been SATA III instead of SATA II.Where this upgrade really shines is with getting small file access and transfers. Since the disk access time is close to 100 x faster (0.2 ms for the SSD as compared to 18 for the HDD) a huge speed improvement is achieved when the computer is trying to access a bunch of small files.In my case the performance improvement was very significant. With the old hard drive the task manager would show high disk usage 80% plus with low read and write speeds a significant portion of the time. Now that is all gone and I am rarely if ever waiting on the hard drive.P.S. When I did a full system scan with Norton with the HDD installed I could not do anything else because the HDD access was maxed out. Now I can't do anything else because the CPU is maxed out ... the SDD can feed my feeble CPU all it can consume. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Performance storage bargain! Works amazingly with MacBook Pro and Lightroom. *by J***S on Reviewed in the United States on May 22, 2015* I can't comment on long-term reliability yet (but that's NEVER been an issue with the numerous SanDisk SD cards I've owned, so I hope it will remain true here, too) but so far, this drive is EXCELLENT.With my MacBook Pro and a bargain USB 3.0 enclosure, the performance is AWESOME! The Blackmagic speed test clocks transfers to and from this enclosure/drive at 392MB/second write and 430MB/second read. I copied a 20GB Lightroom folder with 1,000+ files from one external SSD drive to this one in about a minute-and-a-half.And of course it needs only the power from the USB port, and runs absolutely silent and cool.And it looks like it's come down another ten bucks... unless I have any future failures, I would SO buy this again.P.S. While not the most rugged enclosure you can get, I'm using this drive with an EasyAcc USB 3.0 enclosure that Amazon sells for around 13 bucks. Works great.
