I haven't used it as intended on a vehicle. I have used it indoors to extend the range of my radio. At times transmitting can be difficult. Using the antenna indoor has increased my communication ability greatly. It's a good product for those who need extra range but can't put up an external antenna. I would recommend this product. I used the Bingfu antenna with the product. I'd suggest if you do have it exposed to the elements. Use some thing like electrical tape around the connector to ensure it's water proof. It's also good to carry in a back pack if camping and you want to have an advantage over your factory antenna. You can hang it in a tree or connect it to a walking stick to hold it above your head for better communications.
