My dog is older now and can't make it up and down the stairs so has to sleep downstairs, in a dog bed, for the first time in 8 years - previously he slept in my mum's bed with her. Even after months of trying all sorts of things to settle him, he'd wake up after a few hours and sit at the bottom of the stairs whining or yelping. My mum took to sleeping on the sofa for months. I bought this lamb, not expecting much, as a last ditch attempt before possibly getting some anti-anxiety medication for him. The lamb is a little miracle! We settle the dog down for the night and he sleeps til around 5.30am (previously we'd be lucky if he made it to midnight). He adores his lamb and curls up with it during the day - but we only turn the heartbeat on at night, so he knows it's bedtime. One downside is the heart is very very easy to turn on and off (you just push on it) and he does it just by turning over next to the toy or stretching etc. Now he's had it for a few weeks, even if he turns it off himself during the night, just being with the toy seems comfort enough as he doesn't get up and whine when it goes off. I'd definitely recommend this for older dogs whose situation/routine has changed - it's been a lifesaver for us! The lamb is very big, bigger than I expected! My dog is a Jack Russell and the lamb is only slightly smaller than the dog!
